Architecture and design in Italy photographed - May 2022

What ensues is a collection of personal photographs that showcase the architecture and design observed in Italy.

Une facade italienne d'hotel

Amalfie, italy | Hotel Santa Caterina

While strolling down the steep slope in Amalfie, reveling in the breathtaking scenery, I unexpectedly came across this charming hotel with a shelter that resembled a blooming flower. I was captivated by its architecture, which had elements reminiscent of art deco, infused with a subtle hint of the past.

Vue sur la côte d'Amalfie

Amalfie, Italia | Unreal view

This is unquestionably the most stunning landscape I've encountered. It gives the impression of hills adorned with castles, but in reality, they are hotels and local residences. This location is highly popular among tourists, and it's easy to understand why.

vue sur la mer avec des rochers

Cinq Terre, Italy | Calm mediterranean sea

I captured this photo almost without any deliberate thought, simply engrossed in the various rocks scattered around. However, when I gaze upon it now, a profound sense of calmness washes over my heart.

Plafond d'un centre commercial à Rome

Rome, Italy | Commercial center

It was truly astonishing to encounter the rich historical architecture that graced nearly every corner of an ancient country like Italy. The roof in this particular location immediately captured my gaze. The colors and intricate patterns it showcased significantly enhanced the overall customer experience, providing a palpable sense of taste and refinement.

Porte cochère en pierre à Trapani, Italie

Trapani, Italy | Porte cochère

I found that this view evokes the essence of local life, characterized by its simplicity yet consistently enveloped in high-quality architecture. I hold a special fondness for the textured windows adorning the passage standing on the porte cochère.

Une facade courbée et lisse en italie

Trapani, Italy | Cheese Facade

It's amusing how, regardless of how I contemplate this image, I consistently perceive this facade as a slice of Swiss cheese. However, the curved end stands out for its remarkable smoothness.

Une maison très mince à Sorrento, Italie

Sorrento, Italy | Thin House

This may not be the most aesthetically stunning picture you'll come across, but I believe it's worth sharing because people actually call this incredibly thin house their home. It's quite fascinating!

Des escaliers avec une exposition de lampes japonaises

Venice, Italy | Staircase and lamps

I encountered this staircase while visiting a museum in Venice, and I was instantly captivated by the concept. The lamps enclosed within that cage truly create a beautiful and captivating sight.

Vue en plongée de la cathédrale de florence

Florence, Italy | Filippo Brunelleschi 's Cathedral

This is a true classic, quite possibly Florence's most iconic landmark. The Duomo, with its distinctive red roof, is crowned by the largest brick dome ever built. It was constructed in 1420 and continues to awe every person who wanders its vicinity.
